Question for those that own the DM Black 1956 DeSoto. How is the paint???
Mine had fairly bad paint rash 5-6 years ago on the hood, trunk and a little on the sides. I polished it out at that time to near perfect, but as of yesterday when I took her out of the box the rash is back and even worse then originally. Again RASH not die-cast rot or cancer. I wonder if this model is very prone to rash OR if I look around if I can get a "perfect" one still. So can you guys check the condition of the paint on this model and report back? THANKS!!!

My 56 Adventurer is smooth, no rash, but isn't as glossy as some other Black Cars like my 300 & 55
Cadillac Fleetwood. those have more gloss. Perhaps if I polished it again been a couple of years it would help.

Mine has pretty serious paint imperfections on the hood with a very uneven finish.
It has been that way for quite some time. I have some hardly noticeable rash on the trunk, tops of the doors as well. I haven't tried to do anything with the hood because of the uneven look and texture.
The photos I posted yesterday were taken just a few weeks ago and it hasn't changed any from the last time I had it out. From a distance, it looks great... So I am going to leave it alone.

Mine has has paint imperfections on the hood and below the right side door. You know boys,
I think we've only seen the tip of the ice-berg with regard to the seriousness of the paint rash and also the dreaded metal fatigue rot cancer.
Seems that many more are affected as time passes than any of us would have ever guessed to be the case.
As they say on TV....stay tuned!
