question to the vip partner from fm????do you guys match the 55% off the porsche???
Was there a high rate of returns on the Black Speedster?
USAF 1958-62
I have no idea....but I am thinking of getting one but would rather buy it from a preferred partner
I got mine from ebay, no problem at all, a perfect car. very picky guy ----->
Frank, It would be hard to beat the sale price. According to Tony's Review it is a very nice FM offering and DM doesn't seem to be into early Porsches.
My brother had a Speedster and the pictures I've seen look like FM put a lot of effort into this one. Everthing looks right to me. The body contours seem to be right on.
Maybe D/M could get their feet wet with a nice little '53 Porsche 356 coupe in silver. I had one with blue interior so it would sure make me happy. I just remembered, my white '58 cabriolet also had a blue interior.

It's a great little diecast, Dan
If I were you, I'd buy it in a heartbeat at this price.
Rich, Already did, earlier this evening. But...this will be my first 1/24th Porsche and that means it will be lonely without a companion, can the red version be far behind?
By the way, I'm assuming it doesn't have dogleg hinges.
USAF 1958-62
That is a good assumption, Dan. It doesn't. This Speedster is a very nice model...the colors are just perfect on it and I think it's much nicer looking than the red one. As a companion, might I suggest one of CMC's 550 Spyders?
I display my black Speedster with all three of CMC's Porsches and the red BMW Z8 from TFM. They seem to belong together, you know?
I think you'll be very pleased with this car.
Rick
The Red BMW Z8 makes a nice companion for a perfect contrast.
I have the Red CMC next to it also, I think the Red CMC 1954 550 Spyder is a total different concept and it really doesn't compare to the more redifined look of the black FM Porsche speedster. The red CMC 550 has a more racer boy appeal to me.
Its a keeper.
Martin, the 356 and 550 were related in that they were both powered by 4-cylinder Porsche engines.
The 356 was a little tight to get in and out of....but he 550 was even tighter.
They were fabulous cars in their time. Power to weight and handling were great but the brakes would save your butt.
I never had a 911 but the Ebbro '73 coupes look pretty nice.

Richard, I can see the CMC 550's but the Z8 is from another world.
I have a friend who bought a silver Z8 when they first came out and it makes going fast look very easy. I'd get in big trouble with one of them.

Nice, thanks for the info. Dan, It looks to me you are a Porsche expert!
I agree, but I display them together as German "Uber-cars!"
As in, uber everything else!
I think they still do match, Dan is just a Porsche lover, LOL
