*my Four Newest Pieces*
Four souls got off the five-o-clock Green Dragon Express.....of course, slippin` Jimmy was there when the bus arrived , all five-foot-ten-gallon hat of `im.... salivating like a hungry fox and eager to exploit whomever he deemed exploitable
Two of the passengers, bad actors both, had arrived in this little burg with aspirations to nail the coveted "conductor" part in the upcoming community playhouse production of "Polar Express"......the taller one,Tom,was so method driven that he would absolutely not break character....Elliot,the other actor, carried a coal shovel and reckoned he`d secure the role sometime after dark tonight
Reverend Jim, aka Doc Brown, had come for the brilliant morning sun for which the area was quite well known....during the Covid self isolation, he had gotten so pale that folks had taken to cautiously poking him whenever he sat quietly
The last was Lt Columbo, who had a disarming manner that could overwhelm the easily addled....just about six miles back, the good Lieutenant had disarmed old Reverend Jim during a pickup game of swap the weasel
It was their collective goal now to avoid Slippin` Jimmy.....that, and to determine how best to re-attach Jim`s arm before the lion got hold of it
Tom was less than helpful with his constant haranguing shouts to "Get aboard!!" and "Come on, come on. I've got a schedule to keep!!"
I always thought "The Polar Express" was perfect with the many & varied Tom Hanks characters in it. But just imagine Lt. Frank Columbo in a major role in it? WOW! The conductor? One of the servers singing, "Hot, Hot, Hot; You Got It!"

I just saw TPE again two nights back......after they cross the lake and climb that spiral mountain I generally shut it off......nothing compares with the first half (or so) of that wonderful movie......even to include the always great Peter Falk,I can`t imagine changing a thing

Well, with THAT logic, I simply cannot, OR will not, disagree! Here's lookin' at YOU kid!
If the Lieutenant would stop focusing on trying to remember where he parked his battered Peugeot convertible he might discover that the reverend's arm is just a wooden prop to gain sympathy. These folks need to be aware....Jim has always got his hand out....forewarned is forearmed.

Thanks JayBee......I had a life for several weeks there, but it didn't last....shocking, I know. My comments may be drivel but at least I'm consistent.
