Every 1:24 diecast sports car collector is painfully aware that Cobra Daytona was never made in 1:24! Many Cobra roadsters were made by various manufacturers, a GT40 was made by Icons for WIX, and several GT40's were made by the cottage 1:24 industry but no Daytona's. Franklin Mint did make a 1:12 version in pewter, and there are several 1:18 models, most notably the multiple iterations by Exoto.

Only 6 Daytona cars were made and they were quite remarkable, unfortunately they came a bit too late, the GT40 was more promising platform and the Daytona program was discontinued, at some point several Daytona's were even at risk to be dumped in the ocean if nobody pays for transportation back to US...

Thanks to Gunze Sangyo we got at least a kit. This kit is getting rarer so grab a set if you can and especially if you find it around $100. I recently commissioned a build to a "nonprofessional" builder in the US, who delivered beyond professional results and now I am a proud owner of a beautiful Cobra Daytona Coupe finished in Guardsman blue. I specifically requested no numbers as I did not want to tie the build to a specific car/race and risk historic inaccuracy.  I wanted to enjoy the timeless Daytona's body design so I couldn't care less for numbers and advertisement decals. The first 3 pictures are from the builder, the last 2 were mine upon receiving the model.

Wonderful model Chav. I have several unbuilt Gunze Sangio kits but not this one. Must look for it. Your builder appears to have done an outstanding job on the Daytona Coupe.

fascinating Chav, thanks. I was hoping to see an interior shot, the detail is amazing, the fire extinguisher is almost worth the price of admisson!

I always wished the Franklin or Danbury Mint made one in 1/24th.

That kit looks phenomenal!
