@rich-sufficool That is correct Rich. I have many of the diecast Revell kits including the ones that you mentioned. They did an American Graffiti set as well, Low riders, Monster trucks and they are all nicely done.
Sorry to hear that. I've only bought one kit from bay and got burned by the buyer. This was years ago. Since they had sent it via USPS I got the postal inspectors involved so there was a satisfactory outcome. But, I've never gone to bay for another kit. I'll only buy if I can see it first. I do love old JoHan and Monogram kits.

I too, had a bad experience with eBay, and I actually never got what I ordered. Never got my money back either. This was back in the very early 2000's. My theory is, "Fool me once, but you won't fool me twice". I've never went back to eBay and never will.

G'dmorning George,
I've gotten a few 1/18 diecast on bay and haven't had any issues. But, I'll NEVER get anything from that site again now that I've found the Legacy Auction site.
I'm sorry to hear of your experience.

I'm glad that our Auction site is back. In the past I've ordered probably 40 cars from fellow collectors here in the Diecast Zone and never had a single problem. I feel like we are all here for a common bone of our love of collecting models and old cars. As such, we all work to assure that all transactions go smoothly.

@100ford2003 yes Steve I agree there can be hassles with ebay purchases. I've had 3 diecast buy issues over the last 12-18 months but on each occasion after following ebays refund request process I've been refunded in full. But I've also made many, many satisfactory ebay buys/sells over the years.
My 1931 Cadillac roadster is a Johan. Along with the already assembled problems there are real issues with the kit itself. Significant excess plastic on the parts attached to the trees. Wrong size or non existent placement holes for parts, and very poor instructions. Along with no placement holes there is no clear illustration from the rear of the model so other than going by my 30s DM/FM Caddys for correct placement guides I'm in the dark as to where to put the luggage rack for example. I'm determined to finish it up but it will be a very "static" model. I know they have a sort of "cult following", but I'm reluctant to buy any further Johan models.
Hi, the best JoHan kit I ever had was the Chrysler Turbine Car !
I also had many of their promos.
Steve
@100ford2003 yes Steve I will make an exception for the Chrysler Turbine considering its historical significance.
I love that the model was molded in color, and had all those opening features. For me that was some pretty heady stuff for a kid my age.
Steve
@100ford2003 I searched high and low for the JoHan Turbine car kit... finally found it... and it's still sitting there, waiting...
@100ford2003 Someone built this model and super detailed it. I saw it at an NNL East show and it kinda took the wind out of my sails. I've posted pics of it a few times over the years. If you want to see them again, I'll post them.
Sure, please do ! I'm sure that others would like to see them too.
