Jim, My first new car was a '64 Falcon Sprint. It was metallic green/blue with a green/blue interior. The exterior paint was hard as hell to keep from oxidizing. Drove it all across the U.S. Unfortunately, I was in too much of a hurry (I had wrecked my '55 Ford Crown Victoria) to wait for a four speed tranny.

Still, I loved that car.

Bill, I bought the identical car used. WCPD's model is identical, except I had the automatic transmission. Everytime I look at the WCPD model it takes me back . . .

1964 Chevy II 100, 2 door post sedan in silver blue metallic. It was stripped (no radio, 3 speed stick, etc.) except for a 283/195 h.p. V8 and a 3.36:1 heavy duty rear end. Later, I converted it to dual exhausts. It was a real sleeper and fun to drive. I had an accident on the Wilber Cross and sold it to a kid for $200 in 1969. He raced it on the track and then wrapped it around a pole on the street. Too bad! I then bought a '69 SS 396/350 h.p. Chevelle convertible. I still miss the little Chevy.

1959 El Camino, White 4 sp w/ grey inside. Paid $2,300 and change in early January 1959 from Ostrom Chevrolet in Montebello, CA. 348 4 Barrel ( Big Block? those were really started with the 396's a few years later) as they were in 59. The WCPDC model is close to what I had their's has Auto Trans. Mine had the red stripe an all the hoopla I did opt for full wheel covers w/ spinner, as I remember around $14 more. I wish I still had it. There is a Turquoise Blue/White one on I-90 now east of the mountains "For Sale" it is also like the blue one from WCPDC, don't know how much they are asking but just saw it yesterday.

1969 Roadrunner hardtop, 383, 4 speed...

Ivy Green, Air Grabber, sport steering wheel, Magnum 500 road wheels, am radio, A36 performance axle package. Ordered from Coppolla C/P in Westport, CT. in May, took delivery June 15, 1969. Listed about $3600, paid around $3100. Unforgettable....I still remember every detail of the morning I took delivery (including changing a flat rear tire about a mile from the dealer in the 90 degree heat!)

1961 VW Sedan - Gulf Blue

A Porta-crib would set up nicely in the back seat, where my infant son just rolled around without seatbelts or airbags.

1962 Plymouth Belvedere 2 Dr HT with a 318, automatic push button, power brakes and steering. Paid 2,500 near the end of the season. Boy do I wish I had that car today, it would give my Audi T3 a run for its money.

The Rain Man used a 49 Buick not a 53. The one Franklin mint offered.

1962 MGA - it was the last MGA imported to Canada

Creamy White with black leather interior, and removable vinyl covered hardtop. I played "Route 66" with this car for 18 months and 80,000 plus miles. What a fun time that was.
