TFM "Corvette Club"

TFM has started a Corvette Collector Club. You get first offerings of each model (a total of six during 2008). Supposed to be lmited edition. Once the club members get their models then the rest will go to non-members. The first will be a 1958 Silver Blue Metallic convertible to be available in January 2008.

Are they going to be New or just Re-Paints as a 58 Silverblue would indicate.

That's how I got hooked on FM.

It seems like it was a lifetime ago - my wife bought me the red '63 and there were going to be a total of 6 cars. I signed up for all of them!

I guess what goes around...

Larry, are you sure this isn't the Mint Models deal exclusively?

I didn't think it was FM directly.

Bill, FM called me with this deal and all the cs rep could confirm was the `58 as the first in the series. No info on Vettes from missing years which would be the only ones with interest to me at this time.

I just never have liked programs like this one.

I'm not a fan of requiring the customer to sign up for a whole series while those who just don't want to do that have to "hope" they can get the one or two Corvettes they want without having to pay an inflated price on eBay. Personally I'd prefer to see these special paints (which is likely what they'll be) sell through the independents like they're doing now. Then anyone who wants it can just order it with no requirement to commit to a series. JMO.

Thanks Roger (and Larry), good to know. My local FM seller s/b able to provide then.....

nothing wrong with Mint Models plan, but it sounded like they were only targeting regular customers with their series and I've never ordered from them.
