Unlike a lot of my fellow members, I was not obtaining Danbury or Franklin models back when they were actively manufacturing and marketing them. I only started collecting them about five or so years ago, about the time I joined the Zone. It was by going through past and recent forums that I could find opinions of models I was interested in obtaining. Your reviews are, and have been very interesting and informative, and have helped me construct a very satisfying, albeit smallish collection. I have acquired almost all of my models from eBay auctions and have had great luck finding some outstanding pristine models, including the one that I received today. This particular one came up several times in the forums over the years, always with positive comments, so I finally found a ‘new in box’ example at a very reasonable buy it now price. I am totally blown away with this one, drop dead gorgeous blue, and I actually prefer the unique wheel covers over the wires wheels on the green car. Nothing against the wires, it’s just that I have them on two Skylarks. I have less than a hundred models, and there are only two more that I’m interested in acquiring, but seeing that they are made of unobtainium, I’ll be satisfied in just admiring the one’s that I have. I hope everyone has a great Easter week, and remember the reason for the season!
The blue looks great with the dark wood. An excellent find.
I LOVE the color of this one even more than the metallic green version.
I have been giving series consideration to getting one of the wagon.
No doubt you have had the advantage of your thorough searches. Back in the day, when the Mint was selling them about the only advantage I see is that if you were unsatisfied with a model, you could send it back for a replacement or a refund. On eBay, the seller will generally have to do a refund since few have more than one of the same Mint car.
That aside, you've done really well in acquiring the better available models.
Well done Kevin it is a lovely model... as Willy Wonka in the chocolate factory may I tempt you with the 1956 Buick,Convertible and the 1956 Buick, Roadmaster Riviera
A nice model...good going!

Kevin , you done well buddy. That is gorgeous. I have the green version, mainly because green is my favorite color. But this blue is a knockout.....wow.🤑
When the blue one came out I said to myself that since I have the green one I don't need both. But after seeing the wheel covers I ordered the blue and have never regretted the decision.
@diecast1-24cars I’ve already succumbed to temptation as far as the ‘56, it’s a prized acquirement in my collection. Seeing as my first 1/1 was a ‘55 Buick Special, I also fell for the ‘47 Estate Wagon, the ‘48 Roadmaster ‘fastback’, the ‘53 Skylark L.E. (with the much maligned Connie) the red ‘53 non production Skylark, and the blue Skylark. As for the Riviera, I can’t bring myself to acquire a 2 many door hardtop, even though it’t a very pretty model. Who knows, it may happen in the future, I love my Buicks! Thanks for everyone’s comments, much appreciated!
@geno Blue is my fav, also the Estate wagon’s blue very much reminds me of my dearly departed ‘63 Catalina Ventura 4 speed Tri-Power, and also my ‘65 Goat from long ago. You are correct though Geno, the green is wicked cool!
