The coolest non replica hot rod / custom from DM
I know some here don't like the Hot Rods & Customs, but I absolutely love them. For me the coolest non replica hot rod designed by DM has to be the 1936 Ford. The "Ginchest" has to be the Kookie Kar. Dead last of all the hot rods & customs for me has to be the Curly Ford.
Richard you're my kind of guy.I have most of the DM rod and custom cars my self.
I don't know which I like the most I like several. The Watson custom T-Bird,'51 red Ford pickup and the Ala Kart.
But was very disappointed in the Curly Flamed Ford.It didn't even have a jazzed up engine in it.
The Curly flamed Ford was "over-flamed". It just didn't come off right.
I love rods and customs too. My fav is the California Kid '34.
Customs/Hot Rods/Street Rods
Whatever you call them, they are the bomb.
DM, for the most part, has hit the nail on the head (IMHO). I agree about the curly flamed Ford...bad choice. Two of my favorites...1931 Ford Custom Panrl Delivery Truck and the 1941 Chevy Custom Delivery truck. Both true to life replicas of the type of cars we (Noblemen AC Pompton Lakes NJ) would see at shows in the north Jersey area back in the early sixties.
California Kid...Hands Down Winner
You right on the money-and I realy dislike the Curly Ford also
The Curly Flamed Ford IS a correct replica of a Barris car.
It was owned and painted by one of his employees back in the 50's. If you are comparing non-replica rods, this one should not be on the list. There are pictures of the 1:1 in his book on Barris 50's Customs.
It may be correct BUT I still don't like it.......
