Wobbly wheels on models?

does this bother anyway. I have received perfect models from DM and FM but one or more wheels wobbles. If it still displays good should this be a problem?

I'd stay off the freeways! Street driving only at low speeds.

Hehe! Sorry, but I couldn't resist. Seriously, I can't imagine it would be much of a problem long term.

I dated a model that was wobbly at times too, that's how I met her. Sure,

display her Michael 'trophy dates' are hard to find at our age.........Huh!..........model cars.........Never mind.

Speaking of wobbly wheels - I bought a DM 10 car case a few months ago and the top shelf has dropped so much in the front the cars are almost sliding off. I noticed the other day that one of the FM '49 Fords had a front wheel that was at about a 20% angle from perpendicular to the shelf. Thought it might have snapped the suspension parts but didn't seem to - yet. Wonder if I should call DM about this? The shelves are quite expensive and I wouldn't expect that to happen.

I don't own any of DM's displays but see if the shelves are attached with screws thru the back. If not they are most likely glued in position with maybe a tongue and groove. A quick fix is to pre-drill through the back into the shelf itself and run a few screws in making sure the shelf is at a 90 degree angle to the back.

Hotchkiss is no longer making DM's cases. Production was shifted to China and from what I've heard, that's when the drooping shelf problem started.

DM, up until recently used nice American hardwood cases...

the china versions are made of some really flimsy wood.

Is the wood itself warping? If that's the case there isn't a lot the novice can do to fix it. Even a pro would have to disassemble the case to repair. Not really worth the effort. Easier to buy or build a new one. Or try to get your money back.

The wood seems fine - it looks like the other cases I have but this one was definitely made in China. No screws in the back to hold the shelves up - just and adhesive - that is obviously too weak. I'm going to contact DM and see if they will replace it.
