………..All manner of financial woes seemed have to hit Helen at once, leaving her no option but to relinquish her flat and return to her childhood home.
………..On this, the overcast morning of her departure,Helen finds no lack of willing-to-assist neighbors, each determined to win her heart at this last ditch juncture…..
Were I her; I'd opt to arrive at my childhood home via a Suburban, rather than an omnibus. But hey; who am I to decide the fate of this precious damsel under such stress?

You ARE, after all, the moderator.......and any sway`s fair in love and war.
...............But,if the truth be known,Ms Helen (Goodall) will most likely ride the big green bus with her trained brother Jojo............
It is heartwarming to see that Helen, aside from her own financial predicament, took the time to convince brother JoJo to return home as well. It had broken her heart to see him peddling on the mean streets, tin cup in hand, chained to an organ grinder.

Helen could clearly see no future in it; to her it was no more than a chain chain chain of fooools.
Jojo's her brother?? Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle!
As the Scopes Monkey Trial `23 took shape in earnest,Southern lawyers could be witnessed in or around the rooming houses on S Broad St
Slightly less than 90 minutes away from me is the Rhea County Courthouse Historic Landmark & Museum, in Dayton, TN. A many time visitor, I find it intriguing. The courtroom is still in actual use to this day but has been restored correctly to the Scopes Trial of 1925. The basement of the courthouse acts, now, as the historic museum with many artifacts of that trial.
Of course it was the inspiration of the 1960 movie, "Inherit the Wind" with Spencer Tracy and Fredric March playing the roles of Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan, although the movie did not use the actual attorney's names. Nearby, to this day is the William Jennings Bryan College. Dick York, of the later TV series "Bewitched" fame, played teacher, John Scopes.
Interesting JayBee; I am sorry to say I have not seen that movie. I only know Darren from his days working for Larry Tate.
....one of the original "me too" boys of the good old days__________________by the way,it was Tony who relayed all the information on the movie and visiting the original location............
.........I recall ,quite vividly, the caricaturistic southern lawyer crowd pleasing the gathered with his suspender manipulation techniques.....in all honesty though, that memory could just as well have come from the antics of Foghorn Leghorn......I try not to discriminate based on source validity
