added these 2 to my DM/FM pickup collection. By doing this I thought I now have a least one color example of all DMs pickups. One of my very first DM buys from Roy Rauch about 25 years? ago was the wonderful little 1929 Dodge pickup. So there's a reasonably long tradition here.
Here are the recently added 2, the 1941 GMC pickup:
and the 1937 green GMC pickup, fast becoming 2 favorites.
Only to find there is still one to go! The LE 1953 GMC pickup. The search restarts! Only rarely seen, so may take a while.

Congrats Geoff, those are gorgeous. I love old pickups also. I pray you find that little black gem soon. Meanwhile, enjoy those two beauties.😊💯

Due to my lack of organization I thought I had never been aware of the black 1953 GMC pickup. This morning while looking for something else, there before my eyes was the truck staring back at me. Geoff, without your post, I would never have found it.

Your story reminds me of a recent post I made about a DM ‘57 Chevy truck that I never knew existed. I was just browsing eBay and it appeared. I couldn’t hit the buy it now prompt fast enough Geoff, and I’m glad I did. It’s now one of my very favorites along with my GMC’s. By the way, your post also reminded me to go back and put an offer on a FM ‘50 that I’ve been contemplating for a while. Good luck on your hunt, I see quite a few of the ‘53’s listed right now.

Yes Kevin, I recall your post. And also you are right there are a few DM 53 GMCs around, I must have been confusing them with the green 53 Chev pickup.
Pickups look great in black. This is one of my first FM purchases from the early 90s when they had a base here in Australia. Still a favorite.

I’m with you Geoff, black is a great color on pickups and your ‘40 demonstrates that. I think you are going to love the ‘53 GMC, it gives the truck a whole different vibe. As much as I like the green Chevy version, I’d rather have something a little less common in my smallish collection. Go get it!

@kevins The black 57 is a Beauty Kevin and I'm glad to have it. You may as well get the 50 too to complete the set.

@bob-jackman I actually learned this morning that the seller accepted my offer. It’s advertised as being new with all the accessories, but missing the bed stakes and box. I made a stupidly low offer of $26- and I should be getting it next week.
