To everyone who is upset by my 'vette comment - I'm just expressing my opinion, not saying that any news about Corvettes should be stifled, or that anyone doesn't have a right to like them. I think some of the responses were unkind, unwarranted, and not the kind of talk we like to see here. Sorry some of you feel that way. I'll just keep my opinions to myself from now on, and let you express yours only.Merry Christmas and Happy New year to all !!

Steve, you're welcome at my table...I agree that, too often, opposing opinions aren't taken too well in these here parts. People take things personally, rather than to be open to " the other side " of a discussion. All of a sudden, there's " good guys "/ " bad guys " kind of attitude. I, often, seem to play the guy with the black hat, because, I take another tack, or, I " don't quite say it right ". Too bad, because, I think a lot of good, interresting discussion could occur, without throwing insults, here, there, and, everywhere. If I, for example, look sideways, at West Coast products, all hell seems to erupt...and, because it happens to be a one-man show, I'm seen as personally attacking Brian, rather than focusing on what I'm actually saying, about product issues. There is a difference, in my mind, and, intent.

I wish people could better see the " true side " of Clarke McKenzie " posts, rather than putting a personal spin on many of the comments I may make that doesn't, necessarily, go along with the majority of postees. Reading, before erupting, would help...don't pull the trigger so fast!!

More open-ness doesn't hurt, and, another's views may be fun, and, informative, too! We all, too, need to be given a bit of slack, for sure.

Hope this is the case in the next year. People can differ, as even I, and, Richard can differ ( at least that's what a previous post referred to, on my part ), but, we can, in the end, respect each other, I believe.

Maybe, I'm just an optimist, but, it's JMHO....'cause I, generally, enjoy the discussions, etc., but, they don't always have to demonstrate slight variations of the same comment....that's what makes life interesting, and, we all see things differently, and, to differing degrees.

Steve-Ditto, again!

I, and others like me, fought to give you the right to say what you want to say. I may or may not agree with it but I will defend your right to say it. Just keep on sharing your thoughts and feelings. There are no individuals nor groups that are the arbitures of what is said here or anywhere else(except, of course, Tony!!!)

Steve, You are more than entitled to Voice Your Opinion!

I however do not make snide comments over what you collect. I want you to be happy with the offerings too. We will all be better off if we allow the Mints some opportunities to make some extra money. Danbury has proved it will re invest into new tooling sure they have some re-paints and I like you only need one of a car not multiples of colors or the rainbow. Our purchases lead to more models being produced and we have a regular way to let manufacturers know what we want. Hell if you count releases the mark with the most is GM's Chevrolet. That was the #1 selling car in those years too! I like Mopars and Fords, would welcome most if they made them. I hope everyday someone will have a special on them too so Yeah I want Price Selection and the rest but I don't want to spoil your chances of what you want too! Sorry if you don't understand my feelings about Corvette Shots as they do pay a lot of the freight! read that as they are SURE BETS for the mints.

Don't go changin', Steve...

...honest, constructive expression is always welcome. And we often share similar tastes. I just made a post on JSS recently lamenting over-abundance of Vettes and Stangs in scale, despite loving both.

Clarke, The point in all of this is why blast the Mints or West Coast Diecast? If you want a certain model like a Buick Flat-Top in triple black then don't blast the very person who is the most probable to make for you. I want one of those too! I'm going to do everything to help him be able to make it not try to pick it apart. I have seen a constant and incessant gripe by a few posters the past 4 or 5 months at anything "Corvette" nevermind those are where the Mints dollars come from. Those are their sure Fire Bets as to having positive pay off's but with negative comments by a few that could be ruined. Tony Perrone made a comment about the Panama Yellow Corvette, The Anniversary Edition from DM but since there is little or no info as yet I don't know anything about it, so I as well as others are interested. That should be enough to allow info but no someone had to be "Flippant" about it which did rub me wrong after the many too many "Corvette Postings" I've always allowed for information to go forward and tried to get as much info and help to members like you ( who to contact about possible Texaco Station Art when you were working on your project)without any reservations so it will continue that way here for me I can not speak for others. Please don't be negative when you are desirous of a certain car as we have to rely on several manufacturers to get some of them.

David, personally, you and I disagree on " West Coast"

you talk " poor Brian ", and, make it personal, 99% of the time...Get off the pot, please. This, as I mentioned many times, is a company that advertizes nationally, that gets national attention in diecast mags, etc.. It( West Coast) should be given the courtesy/respect to be seen as a COMPANY. Many companies are " one man shows", and, that's not blown up to high heaven, and, put on some kind of pedestal.

I don't give a ".r's..ass " who does what...as long as they do it...LOL...and, I think you do tend to make things way more personal, at times, than necessary. People, besides you, should be welcome to express their opinions. Read their posts, as I said; you may find they're not as blasting as you seem to be in some of your responses, or, not as personal, either.

If you want to talk Brian, and, personal stuff, E-mail people individually. If you want to talk about West Coast, talk about WC, the company, talk about it as a company. And,, keep it impersonal ( the discussion, I mean ), please. That's my side, and, I say things up front, without inuendo...whether you like it or not. As I say, on most issues we may agree, but, on the above, I, respectfully, disagree, specifically, with you.

And, don't make me out again, as the bad guy...I AM NOT BLASTING ANYONE... THAT'S YOUR TAKE, and, THE AVID WC FANS PERCEPTION...IT's FALSE, AnD, I'm TIRED OF THIS INUENDO, .....and, INDISCRIMINATE LABELLING!!!!!...at my expense. Now, that's a blast-of hot air, with a specific slant, I must admit, and, it's not aimed at WC, Brian, or, anyone else.
We agree to disagree....I get it...every time....o.k.????

And, it pertains to this particular subject, too!

My only comment is You should have Knowledge before you criticize many times your posts go on and on incessiantly (sp) . I would site your posts on West Coast where you called Brian out on everything you thought he should not do. I ask as others did at the time what gave you the right to criticize him? Furthermore You, & I mean YOU Posted that was your last post on the subject and then You went on posting another six posts running him down. I see from the pictures Jerry posted a Impala Hardtop you purchased of West Coast so they can't be all that bad! My opinion was directed at people who wanted to muzzle Corvette Info and since it has been a direct insult fling, so be it, I'm a big boy and can take it. My concern if you read Tony's post over Manufacturers reading this and other boards is they might stop doing any of the cars as those guys aren't worth listening to because they take issue with us(Manufacturers) for making money. Read that as Bite The Hand That Feeds You and it probably won't be there again. I don't understand why you can't follow that! I do e-mail and you would not appreciate what people are saying, & I'm leaving it there.

I would be more than able to concede Steve's point on Corvette's he got caught by the simple fact a few people had been "HARPING" maybe Disporportionatly over the number of Corvettes. The fact the Mints were making money on them and they should get off the Corvettes and making money to move on do something they wanted. My response simply stated two individuals did not like Corvettes and seemed to wish to stiffle info. Take a minute and look at the post! It also stated this was a Public Forum and some wanted the information. I was & had been looking for more information on the DM Release, just as others on this site had (such as Tony Perrone too), thought possibly I missed the review, etc. I do purchase all their(DM) Corvettes so I was interested in seeing what my money was going for. Yes I know it is "Guaranteed to meet my Satisfaction" but I have some responsibility if I know in advance I'm going to return it.
It is NOT MY RIGHT to cause anyone to spend their money on my whim if I know in advance that is just good manners to prevent that from happening! After seeing the picture of the 58 A/E car posted by Robert Kroupa I see DM still has work to do to make the headlight bezels look more correct, they look too small to me, will that stop me buying, No, because the Mint Model Yellow Corvette I have has and Issue with the King Pin so the left front wheel leans over upon turning it. I'm living with that as I purchased that one on the secondary market and don't want to return it so that is my only option. Others also possibly feel info is stiffled due to some of the comments "made in jest" so caution at what your flippant remarks may be read as by some manufacturer. Have Great Holiday!
