It is just a bright color for review, I don't believe there is a historic reference, probably what the builders had available on hand. It is an early fitting sample, what is interesting that there are differences in the diecast parts. Got it at auction here several years ago from Rick.
Now waiting to find a cheap broken one and pull the engine, so I can display the drivetrain alongside.

I have the Chevy, it reminds me of my grandfather's last car. In the early 1960's it needed a paint job, so he went to the hardware store, bought some enamel house paint, and brush painted it brown. It was a good 50 footer!
