Tony, I've always wanted a '65 Chevy Impala in 1:24.  I didn't know that Welly did one.  Though cheaper in cost and less in perfect replication, this looks like a fine model.  Thanks for sharing!

Your photos make this model look very nice, and for what it is, it's not bad.  Unfortunately, I wanted a '65 in red badly as one more Impala in my red series from 1959-1964, so I bought this one along with the blue version. It is not 1:24 scale, labeled as such, but at best it is 1:26 or smaller. Welly is awful for labeling their models incorrectly. Most 1:25 scale models when placed strategically can be displayed with 1:24 and look acceptable. That is not possible with these too. So back in the box they went, packed away for now. I intended on giving them to my Grandson, but is interest in models has dried up for now.

Sorry Galen, nothing against you wonderful photos. They are, as always, just perfect.

@jcarnutz you are so right John and I knew going in but the model for the price vs quality still will have a special place in my collection. Yes it also went back into it's box following the photo shoot.

Excellent pic's of another Low Cost Alternative. My collection is modest compared to some of you guys so I have plenty of room to keep my blue 65 on display. I haven't been collecting very long and only have 39 of the mints.

I have both the hardtop and convertible. I suppose I'm not as picky as some but both of these models are front and center in my display cases.

@bob-jackman

Mine will eventually go on display as I set up more cabinets. It just won't work with my other Impala (red) models in 1:24 for the display I was setting up. I didn't have enough room to distance it properly for the size difference.

John, I understand. I have mine distanced from the other Impalas so I really don't notice the size difference.

I have the Sunstar version of the '65 SS.  It's very well done for ten bucks and appears to be 1/24 scale, fitting in nicely with the other Impalas.  The casting is made for a convertible or hardtop, so there's a seam along the base of the top, but it's not too noticeable in black. It also has the correct Super Sport wheel covers.
