Agree 100% Bob, this model has incredible detail.
Just lift the panel behind the seats.
It's still a contest the 57 Studebaker Golden Hawk, original issue and the 55 Studebaker Speedster ( I think this is my favourite model and it replaced the 57 which used to be my favourite
Peter I do LOVE the Mark III models (have all 3 colors) and think they are well done BUT .... (PIC)
It's hard to include them in the "most realistic" model when nothing opens or articulates! Working features and movable parts all add to the realism of a model IMO. Just sitting there on a shelf (or picnic table LOL) it does look very realistic. So much so I was amazed when I first started seeing pictures of it before I received my examples!

I can't argue with you on that Phil. Can you imagine what DM could have done with this? Probably would have had functioning headlight doors!
Oh for sure! I bet the fender peak moldings would have been perfectly done
Complete with the black paint line in the center like the 1:1. The headlamp doors would definitely have worked, and I bet they probably would have even articulated the correct way as they do on the 1:1. FYI the headlight mechanism is complex, very well made (has brass bushings where it pivots) and first the cover tilts back before it opens upward. It sort of closes and pops out to sit flush against the header panel! Very detailed car and well made!
