Being an old geezer all of my choices are from the mid 1930's to the early 1950's. And so too boring to inflict on my fellow forum members in any detail.
The time has well passed for these cars to shine other than the top of the line marques - Cadillac, Packard etc. Too bad really, but its the same for real cars where the 50 year rule kicks in.
This theorizes that, except for expensive collectibles that change hands at auction in the millions of dollars, every day average cars have peak collector interest for only fifty years from their model year release date.

Jada produce a diecast model in 1/24 of a 1947 Cadillac Convertible..

The model is produced in various guises including low rider versions.
However, every once in a while a regular street version becomes available on The Bay and it is one of these that I bought to gussy up adding detail from a Danbury Mint 1941 Cadillac that I bought as a wreck. The original chrome covered boat anchor engine was replaced by the engine from the 1941 car. All kinds of parts from other Mint models gave their all to a good cause. There is still some touching up to do with paint and chrome work detail to the interior.
To produce this conversion it cost me a one time full head of hair - this was a conversion that fought me every step of the way. Right now I'm over this tormentor so the final interior detail may actually never be done.

Collectors of 1/43 Scale are royaly served by Brooklin and I guess other builders of 1/43rd - not as many as there once was when there were names now long passed into model collecting history, but not forgotten. But there are some great examples shown right here. A nice model is a nice model regardless of scale.
Sometimes I wish and with forlorn hope that 1/24 was equally blessed.
Even 1/18 collectors are better served in the variety on offer to collectors of that scale than is currently available in 1/24. The halcyon days are now passed with the demise of the precision diecasts produced by the two Mints.

I've seen a '47 Cadillac CV, not sure who made it, but it appeared smaller than 1:24 scale.

Here is my 'Jada 47 Cadillac. I've measured the model up and perhaps you can do the math, John.

I'm numerably illiterate:)

So, the over all length is 8" 4/16ths. Width is 2" 6/8ths

Bruce, that's much too scientific for me. How does it look when placed next to a comparable 1:24?

I'm impressed. But, then again, I've got a few JADA 1:24s that were done pretty well...i.e....

- '56 Bel Air
- '61 Impala
- '53 Bel Air
- '57 Bel Air

You have to pay attention though; JADA has different levels of quality.
