@bob-jackman She's definitely a keeper Bob....but of course you know that. My missus likes my models....she just has a "minor" issue with the number of them....oh, and the space they take up. My tried and true counter to any complaints is "hey, at least my past time isn't being out at the bar every day". Lol.
Almost 52 years of marriage, has been total understanding of our respective collecting passions. Never once in all our years together, have either of us had to ask or explain what we add to our collections or spend on them. We always had food on the table and a roof over our heads. Now in retirement, we're (long-time now) empty nesters and each day with each other is a blessing. She will forever be my princess.
@georgeschire That is so nice George.....you know what?....there is a chronic shortage of the "princesses" you mention in this world!
It's interesting that you say, "there is a chronic shortage of the 'princesses' in the the world. Though I can't speak for everyone, but my personal witness over the years is that there are more princesses than you think.
Marriage is such an interesting union, in that there is never a one-way street. Both members of the team have to try equally and always put the other one first.
I'm sad to say that I've seen too many of my friends and family not understand this. I've seen men friends/family hurt their wives and I've seen lady friends/family do the same. I can only speak of what has worked for me and my bride. Saying "I love you" when we wake up, then several times during the day, and finally "I love you" before we go to sleep at night.
Whenever we've made any decisions through the years, we discuss it and do what's best for both of us. With regard to our respective hobbies/collections, we have space in our home that is our own to enjoy them. And this is a big one for us, we always remember how and why we fell in love. Doing so, usually brings us down to earth when things are a little out of whack.
It is a blessing and we thank God everyday for always walking with us through wall we've faced.
@georgeschire I received my Grail model this afternoon and haven’t had time to fully take it all in. My initial thought is.. HOLY CRAP, this thing has to be the pinnacle of Danbury Mint modeling!

An excellent way to put it, 'pinnacle of DM modeling'. It is certainly one of their pinnacles. They were at the zenith of their modeling art in late 2011, when this was released.
@geoff-jowett Good Luck with that Geoff, I looked for months for one I could afford and finally bought one that I couldn’t afford. This Buick has to be one of the three rarest DM’s I’ve ever hunted down, the ‘49 Merc surf wagon, and the ‘35 Ford, ‘last DM’ model being the other two. ( not to mention that my very first car was a ‘55 Buick Special.) You won’t regret owning one, it’s a Masterpiece in my opinion!
