I have had a life long interest in model architecture. I loved to watch the houses being built in our neighborhood . Those were the days of sturdy construction with actual 2x4’s and plaster interior walls. No vinyl or aluminum siding. When I was a kid I built houses in 1:25 scale, albeit pretty crude, to go with my 1:25 scale cars. When on Christmas 1974 Jeannie gave me a 1:43 scale Schuco Mercedes, my collecting of 1:43 vehicles began in earnest. I built a house to go with the Mercedes in 1975 (a future post perhaps)
Then, for the 1976 summer season I finished the Martha’s Vineyard house. Photos in black and white seem to me to enhance the realism.

Summer house as it is today. Porch added in early ‘80’s. House was also reshingled and windows and shutters replaced. Note how the trees have grown. (the model house is placed on the deck when we are on the Vineyard.)

Really nice houses and a great addition for a diorama setup for real or in photographs.
I built this California mission style church for a 1:64th scale model railroad some 60 years ago.

John, that mission church and country farm house are incredible especially in 1/64 which I think would be very hard to do. The detail is fantastic. The Victorian farm house is a complex design and you matched it perfectly. Do you have any more houses to post?

@david-knight David, No more model buildings but would be happy to send you more pictures of these including church interior but take this off topic subject off line with receipt of your email address. jquilter(at)peoplepc.com

In 1/64 scale there are some very detailed resin structure kits and laser cut wood structure kits, many with interior details. I have sometimes shown mine in the 1/64 and smaller scale section of this forum on my train layout. I have not done any 1/64 scale scratch built structures like John, except for a couple of buildings with LEGOs.
