I don't collect many racing vehicles (except for LSR cars), but I had to get this 1916 Clarke racing vehicle when it was announced by Bizarre. It's quirky, bulbous, and just odd enough to make it into my collection.

Good one, Randy.   Here's one of my old favorites:

@d-m-holcombe David, those Dust & Glory models are rare as hen’s teeth. I’ve been wanting the Golden Submarine forever. Very elusive. Your White Steamer is a great one, too.

Randy, I was intrigued when I saw it. Is it based on a real car?

A "real car"?   I found this comment on the web:

This is a beautifully detailed 1:43rd scale Bizarre brand model of the 'Clarke Racing Vehicle' - a patented 1916 design by Harry D. Clarke of Omaha, Nebraska.

This vehicle is featured in Jared A. Zichek's excellent book "Streamlined Dreams : Ten Amazing Unbuilt Automobile Designs, 1916-1939".

The patent information in great detail may be found at

@d-m-holcombe That car has to have the world's largest radiator.

@rich-sufficool  You're right!  Steam cars had a lot of engineering that we're no longer familiar with. Here's a site from the Henry Ford Museum that has lots of information:
