Several years ago there was a topic about Frobly on thus forum. Unfortunately, discussion was stopped.
Yesterday I received the 1951 Mercury Convertible Top Down by this manufacturer from France. This is a very nice model which fills a very importnant gap in collection. Except Frobly only Franklin Mint paid attention on the 1951 Mercury.
The model has resin body and white metal baseplate. Acrylic display case borrowed from Eligor. This is a late edition packed into blue/white box and upgraded with chrom trim.
Sadly, I have a very little infitmation about Frobly. As far as I know this French manufacturer was producing models during 80s- mid 90s. They made 1951 Mercury, 1958 Studebaker/ Packard Hawk, 1961 Ford Ecoline, 1957 Citroen DS 19, Cord L29 , Ford Model A pickup ( based on the 1932 Ford V8 by Eligor) and perhaps something else. Would be nice to learn their full list and more information about this interesting company.

Looks like a very nice model. I've seen photos before, but never the actual model. So, with that, I went to the world of eBay to look at what might be available for this one. I found a closed version of this model (which I prefer) in a dark red. No box, but from one of my trusted sellers, so I bought it. Now I'll see 1st hand how it is. Thanks for your post, I am always looking for something a bit different.

The only Frobly that I have is the #7003 1958 Packard Hawk. Sorry no image to share as it is in storage. Mine is cream and bought likely pre 2000 when I was on a Studebaker purchasing binge.
My version is a later one which added separate windshield wipers and a revised casting with Packard on the hood printed rather than decal in the original version. Four colours were offered, cream, red, black and blue.

@jcarnutz I have the dark red top up in my collection. It is a nice model but I really like the yellow convertible.

With the good overall detail on this model I always wondered why they didn't put a little more effort into the taillights.

There is something very wrong with the top portion of the windshield. They casted the front section of a coupe.

@jcarnutz There were 2 variants of the boxes: esrly type in a brown colour and late type in blue/white. I suspect that the late models got some chrome trim parts.

@nickies This model was released in 80s. At that time it was one of the best and many collectors was dreaming about it. Of course nowadays there are all sources to produce almost exact models. This one is a part of history and no sense to estimate it according modern standards.

I've always been tempted by their 1961 Econoline because its so cute!
