The 1953 Lincoln was a lightly modified 1952, and 1954/55 would be more of the same.  No tail fins, no sweeping chrome to offset disharmonic two-tone paints, just a sense of balance.  That's the way it seems to be as I look at this older model from my shelves.

But for 1956 Ford's stylists seemed to have an attack of "GM-itist," and here were the results.

But I kind of like both of them.  In the mid-50's I was just a kid admiring them through the showroom windows.

Have both, love both. The 56 is especially outstanding IMO. Nice pictures David.

The 52 thru 55 Lincolns just don't excite me at all; IMHO the Mercury is a much nicer looking car.

@mg-harv  That Lincoln must be your next door neighbor's!  😉 We just drove through snowy Knoxville on the way to Indy!

i have the green '53 Lincoln as well as a red convertible. Love them both. I wish someone would do a '54, unless one has already been done that, I am not aware of.
