My latest addition to my collection. A pink '58 Edsel brightens up my display shelf!
I have noticed variations of the E D S E L name and the crest in the scallop on the rear fender. On mine they're black, but I've seen some in gold. Anyone know why Brooklin did that?

I'm bumping up my post...
Does anyone know the answer to my question? Thanks!

I do not know about Brooklin, but I have a Spark 1958 Edsel, and the letters are gold.

Barry, I don't know the answer to your question but mine also has the black letters and crest.
@moe-parr Like Bob Jackman says, I don't know the answer to your question as to why the change. According to the Brooklin Collector's Guide, this model was released as "Standard Issue Number 1" with the gold lettering; then "Standard Issue Number 2" with black lettering. Mine has the gold lettering, so I guess I have "Standard Issue Number 1" on my shelf. Why they made the change from gold to black is a good question. Maybe because the black is easier seen?

Thanks for the answers! I wish I had looked a little more closely before I bought it because I do prefer the gold lettering. But not a big enough deal to make me feel the need to buy that one too!

Which version do you have?
I'm looking to buy the Spark '58 Edsel green convertible. Can't find one from a U.S. seller at this time but I'm willing to be patient.

@moe-parr It was changed so that it could be seen more easily but not authentic
