My brother will be celebrating his 80th birthday next week so I decided to give him an exact replica of a car he owned in the early '60s. It was a white 1959 Pontiac Parisienne convertible with red/silver/white striped interior. This exact model is not made in 1/43 scale so I decided to make one. I started with GFCC 1959 Bonneville since it was available in white and already had the exact same interior color scheme. Although it is a Bonneville rather than a Parisienne, it is very similar except for the size of the tail lights. There is also a difference in wheel base and length, the Parisienne being slightly shorter as it is built on the Chevrolet frame instead. I started with the GFCC 2 dr htp, removed the roof, removed the fender skirts and made a boot cover. Not a difficult conversion. Some pictures of the finished product are below:
Nice work. The 1959 Pontiac has always been one of my favorite car designs from that time.

Great work! I make my boot covers from a small piece of sheet lead, Cuts and shapes easily.

Great job Ken; I'm sure your brother will be impressed!
That is a terrific job on that beautiful Pontiac car and model, Ken. Very nice !
Terrific job Ken. Your brother should love such a nice gift.
Back in 2018 (I think) Buz at the Route 66 Model Car Store introduced a Madison Models 1959 Pontiac Bonneville convertible in red with the same red, white, and silver interior. The first three photos show the model.
The next three photos show the 1:1 scale car upon which the model was based. The third photo has a sign incorrectly identifying the car as a 1960. We all know it is a 1959. The photos were taken at a car show in Naperville Illinois in June 2019.
