Happy to add another Chrysler 300 to my group which includes '55, '56 & '57 hardtops, '59 & '60 open convertibles, and now this top-up '61.

It's by M.A.E. Scale Models, and according to the bottom plate it was made in Canada in 1984.

Anyone else have this one, or maybe in a different color or body style?

This one looks great ! I have a 1961 DeSoto and 1960 Chrysler 300, both in 1/18 scale but this era 300 would be a treat to have in 1/43 scale, too.

I have five of the MAE (Mini Auto Emporium) 300G's.

Note that two of these have extra factory details.

I'm a huge fan of the Chrysler Letter Cars. The 300G being a particular favorite.

Just for kicks, I've included a scan of the cover of an August 1961, 16 page, Car and Driver magazine supplement. It's a very comprehensive record of the genesis, development and history (up to that time) of the 300. This might be where the nickname "The Beautiful Brute" was first used.

John, great collection! I especially like the copper colored top-down version.

...the copper colored top-down version.

Note that I have two.

I remember these being listed in the Auto Fanatics (in California?) catalog in the 1980's - but not being able to afford them at the time. I don't recall the versions with the added chrome details being listed.

There were a few MAE in the 1991 TfC catalog!
