Just received 1961 Ford Thunderbird which had been ordered on aliexpress. This is, as I understand, remake of model by Solido of its incredible 100 series.

Remake has opening doors but not opening hood. And original model must have motor inside the bonnet. Also wheel discs of replica are very simple and original have very sophisticated tires. Black color of body and red interior is nice combination.

Hope to buy original model by Solido in future and to compare with remake.

@fred-eliseeff Hi Fred

The original 100 series - 128 Ford Thunderbird only had opening doors. It never had an opening bonnet (hood).

Solido released a total different version of a T-Bird as a later issue in their Age D'Or series - 4517 and this did have an opening bonnet with a detailed engine.

Hope this helps.

Club Solido reissued 8 models back around 2019 but they stopped a few years after that.  They should be exact copies of the older French ones, but made in China.

@karl I assume that this was a project by Hachette. In my opinion remakes of 100 series were able to have success like Dinky Toys by Atlas. Very sad that this series has been so short- lived.
