Here are some snaps of the two 1/43 1966 Ford Thunderbirds I have, one with the skirts from Yat Ming and one without the rear wheel skirts from New Ray. Both are nicely done yet inexpensive diecast replicas.

Models and photos look nice. I am always impressed by the lighting in your photos.

Very nice and neat diecast models of the 4th generation of Thundetbird.

Here is interesting choice of 1- 5 genrations of T- bird in 1/43 scale. Also, the last genetation is modeled by Minichamps and partworks of James Bond. But here is a lack of 6- 8 generations. I hope that diecast and white metal manufacturers will fill this gap.

For some years I also had a very nice bright red Maisto 1/18 version of the final generation of the Ford Thunderbird. One of my young nieces thought it was a really cool model car, so I gave the diecast replica to her !

I have that one too but have never opened the box - isn't that nuts!   It's part of my collection of 25 or so 1/18s, I've yet to open.  Crazy!  🤪 🤪   I also have the final generation  in 1/43.   It says "Road & Track"  but I really don't know who manufactured them.

I have the New Ray model and while it is nice the scale is something less than 1/43.

"...the New Ray model and while it is nice the scale is something less than 1/43."

Correct!   My first & last  New Ray is a 1957 Pontiac, at best it's a so-so  model in ???? scale - it sure ain't  1/43!   🙄 🙄 🙄

It is so unfortunate that, as of yet, I am not yet aware of a 1/43 replica automobile that is truly 1/43 the weight of the full-size car ! I guess it is fortunate, at least, that I have not  had to reinforce my shelves yet ! Mad

@karl  HA!  That makes sense Karl - as it matches my 1/18 Maisto perfectly.   I should've guessed...   thanks!
