Somehow over the years I missed acquiring BRK 67, the ‘61 Imperial hardtop. Then, they became hard to find. Like all Brooklins of that early era, while the castings were generally quite good they lacked chrome detail. Back then it didn’t matter. It still doesn’t bother me. I began to see a few on eBay of late so I sent Santa a request. Santa delivered. Here is my new older model of the ‘61 Imperial Southampton hardtop in Pinehurst Green Poly. While it doesn’t have the chrome detail of John Merritt’s Imperial by GLM, it nonetheless is an authentic replica of that ‘61 behemoth that was all the rage then. My great Aunt Mary Mosher had Imperials. My favorite was her ‘57 4 door. It looked to this 12 year old like a spaceship. I’m delighted now to have this Brooklin ‘61 Southampton coupe.

That is a great old Brooklin model. I do love the style of the '61 Imperial. I have two of these hardtops, one is original, and the other is detailed.

Here's my Brooklin '61 Imperial convertible. Did Brooklin add the chrome detailing to the convertible version but not the 2-door hardtop?

The convertible was introduced by Brooklin several years after the coupe and it was then that Brooklin added the chrome detail on the convertible. The coupe would never get the added chrome detail.

@david-knight Thanks for that info, David! I always like adding to my knowledge.

My hardtop has plenty of chrome detailed but knowing me I probably added it with bare metal foil. This car cries out for that detail.
