When starting my collection, part of my philosophy was to have a wide range of model makers represented. ย As a 143 scale collection, Brooklin, Franklin Mint, Corgi, Dinky, Solido and others are well represented. ย Now I remember Danbury Mint being advertised in my younger days and always see DM mentioned by the 124 group. ย So I was a little surprised when searching for a 143 scale 1962 Corvette to add, I came across one on eBay (my first eBay purchase) by Danbury Mint. ย  Now it doesnโ€™t have the quality and detail of the 124 DMs, but it is pretty cool nonetheless. ย

Apparently it was included as part of a 50th Anniversary Corvette display offered by DM.

It looks wonderful in full-size or model form and that's what counts. I have a 1/43 Franklin Mint automobile and it's an excellent replica.

...these didn't go over that well with collectors as I recall.ย  Each model was basically a painted-up piece of solid resin.ย  I think Danbury promoted these as "cold cast."ย  ย I didn't realize they're now hard to find.ย

Nice snag, Frank! Finding something new like this is part of the fun of collecting. Isn't it?

For detail in a '62, you have to go with the Spark (yes, I know, I'm way behind on reading posts again).
