I recently purchased a Brooklin 1959 Mercury Station Wagon (picture below) and decided that I would convert it into a Colony Park wagon. I detailed the interior, stripped and repainted the body white and added wood panels. I used the wood liner from inside a cigar tube for the trim while the panels are simulated wood decals. Roof rack is made from piano wire. Just need a clearcoat before final assembly.

Looks great Ken. Anxious to see the final results. A late friend used to detail my Brooklin models by scraping the chrome details which made this model stand out.

That's a great idea, and it all looks scale!

HOLY-SMOLY!   This just might be the quintessential definition of "improvement!"    Ken, you did a great job with this... as I noted before, using all that "cigar wood"  was a fantastic idea.   I hope to do the same one day.

What a super looking Merc!

And here's one I did decades ago converting a diecast Ertl convertible.  A replica of a car my aunt, uncle, and cousins owned in the era, a 1958 Mercury.
