My first car was a new ‘68 VW Beetle I bought during my senior year in college. Pictured below is that car at our wedding on July 4, 1970 as Jeannie and I were about to leave the reception to go on our honeymoon. That same VW is shown five years later with our first son David, age 4, now to turn 50 this October! In the years that would follow our family would have other makes of cars. The only VW’s I have now are all in 1:43. Shown below is a 2018 VW Beetle in 1:43 by Schuco as it compares to the actual car.

In addition to the sedan, Schuco offered the VW Cabriolet. Here are two pictured on Martha’s Vineyard two summers ago.
