Get your minds off white metal and resin for a moment and consider a nice diecast Mustang for a mere $20. Ixo has started a range of models for the US market, and as far as I can tell they borrow a lot from previous issues in their standard range, partworks ranges (such as American Cars and the Ford Mustang series), and perhaps work for others, like GreenLight. Anyway, this is their Mach 1 from 1969 in Calypso Coral. Numbering is a bit weird - US vendors call this one IA43003, but the box says U43RDC003. There are a few cut corners, such as silver paint for the window chrome but there's still chrome on the miniscule 'Cobra Jet' lettering on the hood scoop.

Their other models can be seen at ixoamerica.com.

Harv;  I just got this one recently as well and was really impressed with the quality considering its inexpensive price range.

@jack-dodds And it was made in Bangladesh. The Ixo USA site says products made there are subject to only 10% tariffs, so even that would only add 2 bucks to the cost, when the next shipments arrive.

Looks pretty good to me and worth every penny of the $22 spent!    😎 😎

@mg-harv You have to wonder if Bangladesh and others are just proxy countries for Chinese manufactured items.....not sure though.

@jack-dodds

I believe this is an example of a Chinese company, which moved manufacturing to Bangladesh. Manufacturing costs are lower there compared to China. I noticed this with a couple of diecast airplanes, which I bought last year.

Not a fan of Mustangs of this era, but your post prompted me to check out ixoamerica.com where I spotted an earlier issue in this series, the 1974 Plymouth GTX.

Plymouth GTX 1974 Ixo

Regardless of the relative merits of the 1:1 cars, the 70's Mopar styling is more to my taste, and I've just ordered one of these from a UK seller.

So thanks for the heads-up (even if it sent me off in a different direction!)

I'm told the DeAgostini version was issued in black.
