A little tired but wanting to build, this time I turned to one of the pre-painted Testors Easy Builder models, 1/43 diecast metal with plastic interior. I attempted a few "improvements" and had fun with it. There was nothing major involved, for like most of the Testors I have built, it fit together quite well. Here's my photographic essay with a few comments along the way.
Simple packaging, relatively low cost, but the only "1994" identification was on the base, black on black. However, Testors also added a model identification on the back bumper that is not original to the Mustang. It's a decal, but I didn't want to mar the paint by attempting to remove it.
I added front and rear license tags.
Touched the wheels with black to make them more realistic. Outside mirrors needed a touch of silver.
Okay, I used a little glue and overnight drying on the interior. It just didn't snap together securely. This is how the Mustang is placed inside the grill opening; but the Mustang was off center. Luckily the glue wasn't permanent and it took only a minute to adjust it. The result makes a nice finishing touch. The side ventilator accents were just wrong; too large and too black. I minimized it with paint (which I mixed by eye. I never realized how many shades of yellow there are!) Final assembly was easy, and Testors even supplies a screwdriver. I like my larger one to make the results just a little tighter.
This was a nice kit, with just a few opportunities to have some fun. But I think my next one just may be more of a challenge. Stay tuned. . .

Nice model. If I ever find one of these, I will buy it.
