Just reading for pure enjoyment last night, a Clive Cussler novel of 1994, INCA GOLD, a Dirk Pitt yarn of adventure, mayhem, and even a little history. But as the story developed into its climax, our hero showed up in his totally restored 1936 Pierce Arrow sedan, towing a trailer made in the same year by the same company. The car never became the center of the story, but it had some impact nevertheless. As I finished the yarn, I looked at the back cover, and there it was.
That looked familiar. I turned to my "big cars, non-Packard" display and there it was:
My memory too often fails me, but this time it stayed with me just long enough to remember that Brooklin made that trailer to go with the sedan. Guess what I just ordered.
Wait for it!
Nice writeup David. Brooklin did the Pierce and Travelodge trailer both in silver and dark blue.
At one time the Cussler Museum had the 1:1 car and trailer - could this be the same pair in the Nethercutt Collection?
@mg-harv The book jacket car is a smaller Pierce-Arrow. Can't tell in your photo - 2 or 3 window.
