When I started collecting 1/43 I was focused on resin models due to their "crisp" look and detailing.
I started adding Brooklins to my collection when the subject appealed to me. As the Brooklins added up, so did my appreciation of them. They're easy to find, often at great prices (especially the older releases) and even the models that have been sitting in the box new for 20+ years hold up incredibly well. I'm now firmly in the Brooklin white metal camp. I completely understand why John Merritt has over 500 of them, and how many does Bob Jackman have?
I believe that of all the cars in my collection, it's the Brooklins that will outlast me!
I received this GORGEOUS '48 Roadmaster this week:
What a stunning color!

This is a nice older Brooklin. My fave color for it is ivory.
David Knight
Richmond, Virginia. USA
Leave it to David to come up with the matching 1/1.
Thanks, David, that's a spectacular car!

For some reason I appreciate a model even more when I see the actual car for real or pictured.

This is one of the older Brooklins that can really be improved with some bare metal foil work.
John F. Quilter

There's something "charming" about those older Brooklins that appeals to me just as they are...
