Just added this baby blue beauty to my collection:

20230129 185423
20230129 185316
20230129 185405

Question: The box describes it as a "Packard Custom Super Eight". Is that different from a "Custom Super Clipper"? I don't know Packards as well as I know Chryslers but I'm sure there are a number of Packard experts out there. Thanks!

@ed-davis The BRK 18B license offers a clue!

Any of the Packard authorities have an answer to my question? I'm very curious. Thanks!

@ed-davis It's by Brooklin, Ed.

Moe, I think that the full name of this Packard is:

1947 Packard Custom Super Clipper Eight Touring Sedan.

Brooklin skipped a few words on the label.

@david-green Thanks David. It's a Club sedan, not a Touring sedan, but it was the missing "Clipper" that had me confused.

Barry;

I recall that I had second thoughts after I ordered this one because I wondered if the light blue would suit it; but when it arrived I was very impressed.

According to Packard by George Dammann, the base eight model is called Clipper Eight Deluxe with 282 CI engine. There are also the Super Clipper and the most luxurious Custom Super Clipper, both with the 356 CI engine. From the pictures I can see, they look identical from the outside.
