ADLER TRUMP JUNIOR, 1938, being kit No. 2, Pottenheimer Models/ P-Models
Thanks to the help from several members of Forum 43, this older white metal kit was identified. According to Michel Sordet's Ma Collection , P-Models consisted of three models and it was Peter Ottenheimer of Zurich who was behind them. Per Sordet, 400 of each were made. No. 1 was a 1938 Mercedes 170V sedan, cast by John Day in 1973. No. 2 (this model) is the 1938 Adler Trumph Junior cast in 1974, also by John Day. No. 3 was a 1931 Maybach Zeppelin V12 touring car, cast by Barry Lester (of Motorkits fame) in 1975. So "Pottenheimer" was P. Ottenheimer.
This kit has been fun to build, occupying several hours over a couple of weeks. The white metal resulted in a good casting. The absence of a clear plastic window inset resulted in my clumsy attempt to make windows and IMO the weakest part of the results.
Building these kits, some recent and others dating back some fifty years, has become more and more interesting for me over the last couple of years. I’m right now considering my next one.
