We’ve suspected this for some time but an email confirmation from American Excellence announces their closure at the end of June with all remaining stock (what little there is listed) at 70% off.

I'm sorry to hear this Randy. I bought  a lot of models from them and always had a pleasant experience with prompt service and the items well packed.

I got the notice of the 70% off, checked and found only a single page of uninteresting 1/43s. But the company soldiers on as Model Car World in Germany.

Maybe Model Car World will set up some new distributor in the US for their products.

Apart from being a general model retailer, Model Car World is the owner of the Neo brand and I think that before "American Excellence" became the name of MCW's U.S. outlet it was originally used simply as a label for Neo's American car models. I've been noticing on the MCW website that new Neo models - especially American cars - have been distinctly thin on the ground for a while now. Mainly re-issues and re-colours, and meanwhile their BoS range seems to be reduced to 1:87 only.

Maybe just a temporary lull, of course.

Well, I for one, am advocating with them for a reissue of the 1949 Chrysler New Yorker sedan in blue and the 1952 Chevrolet woody in maroon.  Time will tell.  There must be a demand for the Chrysler as an earlier black one recently sold on Ebay for over $300!
