Here is everything a I know about the 1:43 Ertl that came out 20 years ago. I found mine in the local 'big box stores'. https://www.maronline.org.uk/ertl-american-muscle/  Thanks, @galen55 and @mg-harv! If anyone has other information, I would be glad to add a Postscript! 🙂Â
I also want to show off my new-found skill at making photo-collages - courtesy of Harvey's Ertl photos!!!
And I can recall there was the 1958 Mercury convertible with continental kit and the 1964 Impala SS two door hardtop.

@john-quilter I think you meant '57 Merc John - Karl's MAR article mentions it too. As for the '64 Chevy, it was prone to the old zinc pest problem (intergranular corrosion). I disposed of mine long ago.Â

One of my '64 Impalas did develop zinc pest but only on the hood and I had to make a new one.  I did lots of conversions with these and only one was a problem....so far.  You're right, it's a '57 Mercury, that was the change over year to four headlamps.

I can’t locate the box for the GTO so I am not sure if it was part of the American Muscle series.  I believe the Mercury 49 is American Muscle.  Found these pics online

@frank Yes the Vintage Vehicle series, sort of a competitor to Matchbox Yesteryears, preceded the American Muscle cars and included tractors, vans, trucks, antiques, etc.
