[Closed] Any experiences with overseas shipping recently?

My recent experience has been packages tied up in customs in NYC for over a week.

I ship a lot and I buy a lot. Most of my packages from April(!) are still travelling.

I too, am awaiting one from the Netherlands since May 10th, and several from Wuhan.

Has not been good for me either. Waiting for 3 model for 2 months now ! I quit buying.

Waiting for 2 - 4 months for packages from Germany, Russia and Poland

Shipping (or receiving) is tough right now. I just received a package from China that I ordered in

March. Still waiting for one from early May. I tried to buy from a seller I am experienced with in Germany that has cancelled my order because of the shipping. Australia is also taking a long while to arrive. Now England and Italy don't seem to be much longer than usual so far. But even here in the States, shipping is taking longer depending in where it is coming from. Patience is the key.

I've been waiting for a package from Canada which is, according to tracking info, stuck since May 8th in a Chicago mail or customs facility. Totally unacceptable.

Just today I received a nice "thank you" e-mail from a purchaser in Russia. His model Cadillac was over a month in the mail but arrived today in good shape. The last month has been irregular in many ways, and obviously some of them have effected mail delivery. Hopefully, this will improve in time.

I thought I was the only one having trouble! And there's no consistency. Sometimes a package from Europe arrived in record time and other times it takes weeks. China shipments...well I'm trying to be patient.

Waited 10 weeks from France before my model arrived. I won't order from overseas for the foreseeable future.

travel usually 10 to 12 days door to door (about 10 parcels the last 8 weeks). These were ebay purchases for which I could pay import tax in advance through the Global Shipping Program.

Shipping from Germany to United States is currently very costly - the website of DHL states:

"At this time, transport capacities to the USA are substantially reduced. As such, special measures are required to maintain the shipping of letters and parcels.
Private customers: Until further notice, the only option available for sending parcels to the USA will be via the Premium service."

Premium Service results in a shipping cost of 53.00 Euros for a parcel containing perhaps one 1/43 model car.

For Canada DHL states:
"Items (i.e., letters, small packages, Warenpost items and parcels) can generally be sent to Canada.
Until further notice, parcels will be transported to Canada by ocean freight only due to very limited transport capacities. Customers should not specify "Premium" parcel service and expect significantly longer transit times."

view from another side, U.S. to Australia 1/43 Red Dual Ghia posted early April due 19 May never arrived, ebay refunded. 1/24 Cadillac Esval fowarded by John Kuvakas arrived in normal time. Local shipments within Australia appear unaffected.

As far as diecast related shipments I've only bought from an overseas vendor twice. The first was from CK Model Cars in Germany. My order was pre-coronavirus and arrived rather quickly. Just the other week I bought some waterslide decals on eBay from a seller in China (what was I thinking) after about 5 days I emailed to ask if the decals had been sent. The reply said due to Covid-19 they have to send the item to Taiwan first then from there to the USA, they did ask me to be patient, so I will wait.

I have a customer in Moscow who returned a model to my German supplier - it's been intransit for 3 weeks now.
