[Closed] Any experiences with overseas shipping recently?

I order from Hobby Link Japan and have been receiving my packages in about 5 days. They are a great company to deal with!

I had previous orders from Germany delivered in under two weeks and now I am waiting for one that has been changed to 8-12 weeks.

Had ordered a Panasonic/Toyota Racing transporter back in late April from

Belgium. It finally arrived today and was worth the wait as I have a couple of Panasonic Pit Stop Dios from Minichamps to go with it.

None of this explains why a package from Canada that was tracked to a Chicago mail facility on May 12 should take 5 weeks to travel to Oregon. USPS tracking info shows no further scans after May 12.

I have recently ordered from carmodel and mondo modelcars in Italy and received prompt delivery, with tracking, from each.

This could have been the opportunity for Canada Post and USPS to shine, but.........

They've both expressed the desire to be the shippers of choice for the on-line shopping economy, but I'm afraid they've both shot themselves in the foot by being so seriously inept. They could have modified their sorting and also hired lots of out-of -work new employees, but they just threw up their their hands, admitting defeat. They've become a major drain on the economy.

The courrier companies, on the other hand, are doing a great job of modifying their practices and continuing their fast service. I see their various trucks and pleasant delivery people all over the place these days.

John, I live in Massachusetts, an as you probably know already, Massachusetts is directly north of New York city, and not so far away either.
Most of my packages from Europe, England, Germany and China come through New York city, so you would think when they clear customs in NYC, they (USPS) would just send them northbound up to Boston, right?
Wrong!
Most of my packages that come through New York city get sent to Dallas Texas, Arizona, or Chicago!
and every time I call (USPS) to complain, they always
say that it is very rare for them to make that mistake!

I just received a Mondo package with less delay than others.

Still waiting on some from Italy and Japan, going on more than three weeks now.

My package coming from Canada has been stuck in some Chicago

USPS facility since May 12. Tracking shows it got there from Canada in a timely fashion but the problem, based on the last scan of the tracking document, shows the issue is in Chicago. Is it possible that Chicago is where packages from eastern Canada bound for the US west coast go through customs. But a 5 week delay is unacceptable. From a phone call to USPS they take no responsibility and suggest the shipper must file a claim but that can not be done they say until June 26.
