I know it's not diecast but it does have a place in my collection. It's a wooden toy of the Mk1 Bluebird approx 95mm long, does anyone recognise it?

It's an interesting toy, and its style and construction are very much like the wooden toys of the late 1930's.  The simple lathe-turned shape of the car's body and the driver's head remind me of the Hustler Toy Company in Sterling, Illinois.  Many small companies made wooden toys during the metal shortages of World War II, but the metal axles of your racer suggest that this is either pre- or post-war production.  Helpful information on wooden toys may be found at

I wish you good luck in your search.   David H

(Later:)  I had a hunch and found that Sir Malcolm Campbell had a series of high speed cars in the 1920s to 1950s, and he often used the name Blue Bird.  Here's one from the thirties that reminds me of your wooden toy.

Almost like a one-off handmade car!  Very nicely done though.
