I'm going through a large collection of 1/43 models that were on display and trying to match to empty boxes that came with the collectioin.

This is a 1938 Alfa, but can anyone tell me the specfic model? Base is shown, hard for me to read.

Also, who made this resin model?

Thank you,

Robert

Looks a lot like an early ABC (Brianza) model, based on the hand-strung wheels and the method of windshield construction. I once owned his second model, a 6C 2300 I think, and those features were the same. I can read 2900B 1938, so that would be an 8C 2900B. I found some pics online of 8C 2900B roadsters, but none had quite the bonnet vent panels yours does. But it also looks a lot like my Spark 6C 2500 SS (pictured). Perhaps Karl can shed more light.

S2715

Also found this 1:1 pic online. Listed as an 8C 2900A. I also read that only 32 2900Bs were made before WW2, mostly bodied by Touring.

Yep, a 2900B from 1938.  Still looking for the source.  That first line of text still has me stumped...  How many Alfas were in that lot?

I went through all the usual suspects...  ABC, Alfa Model 43, Brianza, BBR, Gamma, Gulp, Klaxon, FB, Provence... nothing.  When you find the Alfa boxes, let us know.  Seems older Italian or French...

Can't find that exact model - but it must be a Colibri (orange box with white printing) kit made in Italy...

@karl Thanks for your help. This collection had hundreds of resin 43rd moslty dating back to the 80's from paperwork I found.

Sample photo attached of just a few of the 13 Solido carousels in the collection, plus MANY MANY more models and hundreds of empty 1/43 boxes. Carousels were full, I've emptied out a few cars so far.

Its been a lot of fun and lots work trying to match model and box.

Thanks, I'll look for a Colibri box, thanks for providing colors of box.  I've got a dozen 10 ream size paper boxes filld with now almost sorted empty boxes, now off to check for a Colibri box.

You get 100%, right on, easy to find the box with your excellent description. I'd of had a hard time matching the box to the model.

THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO HELPED. We dont have an auction going here yet, but send me a private message with an offer if you would like to add this Alfa to your collection.

@albert-kopans So I was partly right! Now that the mystery is solved, I can just make out Colibri on the base.
