At the request of a few collectors, I'm reposting (w/updates) some Ford GT models from 8 years ago.
By now everyone has seen Ford Vs. Ferrari, right?
Here are the four Ford GTs that won Le Mans, 1966-69, all Ixo models:

Ixo made all 8 Ford Mk. II entries from Le Mans 1966 (be they Shelby American, Holman & Moody, or Alan Mann Racing):

Ixo made five Ford GT Mk. IVs, including the #1 car that was the '67 Sebring winner.

Ixo made four Ford GTs from Le Mans 1968 (at least I'm not aware of others besides the Spark models):

Here are the four JW Automotive/Gulf cars from 1968 and 1969 (all Ixo):

Ixo made the three Daytona cars from 1966, I bought two, but have since replaced the winner (#98) with a Spark:

Here's the Ixo herd:

Wayne Moyer reviewed the Minichamps '66 Ford GT Le Mans, an excellent model that included engine detail. I compared the Ixo and MC models in a side-by-side article here and for MAR Online. Here's one pic from that write-up, where the conclusion was that the MC was far better. So I replaced mine (MC on right).

Here's the Minichamps. BTW, Spark has done this one, plus numerous others, but no engine detail:

Similarly, I bought the MC #3 car. I't good, except the bump in the roof was poorly handled using a plastic part, whereas the Ixo had molded it in. Still, I replaced my Ixo with the MC:

As stated, Spark has done quite a few, and I've bought several. Here are the ones I have pics of, beginning with the 1968 Le Mans car:

Here's the GT40 Roadster that won Sebring in 1966:

The same car that won Le Mans in 1968 and 1969, Chassis 1075, also won Sebring in 1969:

Finally, here is the 1964 press intro car, with wire wheels no less:

Outstanding group of pics and info. Thanks for posting. I always thought I was missing a couple of cars. Now I know and will have to go on a search and buy.
Good luck Chris - I saw two #3 cars on ebay at $100+.
Harv, you have truly amassed a fabulous collection of Fords there.
Now if they were real, do you know how many puddles of motor oil you would have? Therefore I recommend keeping as many in their boxes as possible. I'm getting all greasy just thinkin about it. But I'm jealous too.
Great collection Harvey. I used to drool over the Ford GT that ran around town in Menlo Park Ca. This was in '71, I would see it go by the gas station I worked at. It was black and owned by some rich kid out of Atherton. Jealous! A guy I worked with at my last job was Carol Shelby's purchasing manager in the '60's and went to France for the '66 race with the team. He had pictures. While working for Shelby American he acquired a Cobra Daytona coupe and a Cobra roadster, both ex race cars with little value at the time. He got them for next to nothing. The Daytona's engine was out of the car in a corner of the shop and he had to install it. He kept them for a time and then sold them both, I'm sure the worst decision of his life!
Awesome collection Harvey and great notes on the individual GT40's / replicas. Thank-you.
Curtis - I used to do insurance inspections in middle TN.
Once I inspected a Buick dealership in Nashville. In the service department, undergoing a lot of work, was an honest-to-god Ford GT Mk. IV! I was amazed. Not long after I saw an ad in Road and Track for a Mk. IV in Nashville, obviously the same car. I think even in the late 1970's they were asking $100K.
Wasn't the last time building inspections offered up a surprise. In a mostly vacant building I once saw an Abarth double bubble coupe that needed some work.
Update - just ordered the #96 Daytona 1966 car that I was missing.
Wonder what happened to that Abarth double bubble...
Harv, there was a time when that would have been £25!
