Overseas shipments taking a real long time.

One from France ordered March 23 shows an arrival in mid-May.

My spending hasn't changed much this year. Just a bit more particular on what I want. I'm on a fixed income so I kind of figure out how much to spend without the mrs raising hell.

The US Post Office seems as fast as ever, and I'm a satisfied and repeated customer there. But I have an order for something from China and it seems stalled, somewhere in Asia. My old toys on the 'bay are in a state of "non-action." I'm not even listing any at this time.

Ordered an Ebay '70 Camaro from Spain. Seller said it could not be shipped right away, was I OK with the delay or did I want to cancel the order. Told him I'll wait. Sometimes there is something to be said about delayed gratification.

I find that delievery times are often better than predicted but maybe since airlines are not filling their seats with passengers they should fill the seats with packages and earn some revenue.

Buying and selling.....The situation

I am retired, but I sell some models and mostly sales literature on Ebay. I don't want to stop selling, because it will hurt the extra income I earn. I have not been out for 3 weeks. I've never left my property, other than a short ride to let the car stretch it's legs a bit.
I've had no problem with buyers waiting a little longer for their purchases. Most people understand the situation.
As old as I am, I really can't take a chance of being out with people around. My son has mailed out a group of items for me, so I'm not that much behind.
We all have to realize what we are up against, and really don't know who we can believe 100%. So I think we have to sit back and wait this thing out and be understanding.
I am, by the way, near the hot spot of New York City, in central New Jersey.
I'm waiting for some models now, but it's OK. It's secondary compared to every thing else going on around me.

I've been very cautious for several reasons

Our staff at the church has been extremely busy trying to set up a virtual church. We webcast our services and several studies and meetings during the week. I haven't had time to do much shopping but I do keep up with the forums.

I've had to be careful regarding income. During times like this, a steady income for pastors is not a guarantee.

I've had a model on order from France since 3/13 which doesn't show any movement. First due by 3/23 now 4/23 and still no movement. I've been buying more than ever because of nothing to do but that has to change.

Sellers are discounting

I have noticed that sellers are discounting more especially on ebay. Before I buy I simply ask it there is any additional discount, especially if I'm buying more than 1 item from the same seller. I'd say at least 3 out of 4 requests are providing additional discounts which is much appreciated!
