Ford Motor Company of Australia has a very intetesting and exciting history. Starting from production of the same cars that were in USA in 60s designers created their own constructions and Australian Fords became individual cars. Of course Australian model manufacturers like Trax, Classic Carlectables and Biante produced a huge number of 1/43 models.
I made some posts about 1933/34 Ford V8 by Classic Carlectables and hope that folkes will post in thus topic everything which is connected with Aussie Fords.
Recently I was able to find the 1998 Ford Falcon AU XR 6- a sport sedan equipped with 4 litre 220 h.p V6 engine made in the New Edge style. This sport version had special design of the front part and rear spoiler. Priduction ceased in 2002.
1/43 diecast model intially was made by Paradise Garage in 1999. After its bankruptcy Biante acquired all moulds and started production under its own brand.
The model is very nice and neat. It has Minichamps level of detailes and completed with a certificate. Of course in 2000s Biante was producing more sophisticated models in a collaboration with AutoArt but this Falcon from the late 90s fills a very impirtant gap in collection.
I looked foward to see many posts and photos in this topic because Aussie Fords are very interesting for me. Sadly, seems that this direction is very exotic. Despite on it I'll try to develop this theme.
In previous posts I showed 1933/34 Fords V8 by Classic Carlectables , so there is no need to do it again.
One of the most significant Australian manufacturer waa Trax. Since 1986 till 2010s this company was producing superb diecast models by a very reasonable price. Unfortunately in 2010s they moved to resin and the models became very expensive.
The 1960 Ford Falcon is iconic car not only for USA but for Australua and Argentina. Moreover in these countries Falcons began their separate development.
Trax released the 1960 Falcon in 1996. Except standard sedan vans, puckuos, estates, special versions were also made. The model from my collection is XK Deluxe Sedan painted in 2- tone colour combination. This one is very nice and neat and looks wonderful. Trax used a very interesting type of packaging with blister window and plastic closed box.
@mg-harv Trax made excellent selection of the 1960- 65 Falcons. They also produced pickups and vans. And of course there were many different colour combinations.
Futura hardtop is incredible. Trax reproduced 1964 and 1965 versions in the mid 2000s.
In fact Trax made different geberations of Falcons from 60s till 2000s. I have only 1960 in my collection but in future hope to fill all gaps.
After 1966 when new generation XR was released Aussie Falcon became almost individual car. In 1967 XR GT version completed with V8 225 h.p engine was released and gave a start to Australian muscle cars.
A superb 1967 XR GT was modelled by Classic Catlectables in 2003. This miniature was included to 100 years of the Ford Motor Company Anniversary series. It has turning front wheels, full detailed baseplate, separate door handles and superb interior. My model painted in Golden colour and completed with a certificate like all other production by Classic Carlectables.
Except this XR GT Classic Carlectables also made 1968 XT , 1969 XW and motorsport variants which had opening bonnets.
