@geoff-jowett If you're buying 1/43 and are looking for detail and accuracy, Ilario are worth considering. As you know, they're not the most reasonably priced, but I think worth that little extra.

P.S. They have a 'Flash Sale' on today !

Regarding the Magpies, they also like shiny objects, so keep your 1/43s locked in a cage!

thanks Charles, I've seen a number of Ilarios and agree they are superb. Hopefully I'll find one in my price range one day. I actually have FMs excellent 1/24 version of the wood bodied Rolls. Doesn't have the top up though, which really adds to the model.

@geoff-jowett They're out of my range too. I've been after a 1904 Rolls for a while but without the Skiff detailing I wonder if it's worth the outlay.  I only collect 1/43.  It seems you have much wider choices if you collect all the scales.  Do please post your other veterans when you've time.

Thanks for the back story. A wonderful bird! Some people see them on a regular basis but do not know they can talk. They can be taught a LOT!

Magpies are considered to be among the most intelligent birds in the worldThey have many characteristics that demonstrate their intelligence, including:

Sorry I've gone off the brass era theme!!

GLAD YOU DID! I so enjoyed this. I read it somewhere once before but not in some time. Wonderful little critters!
