I came across this photo containing a '54 Kaiser Manhattan convertible by Brooklin. To my knowledge, a real 1954 Kaiser Manhattan was not offered in a convertible. Does anyone have any information on this model?

I'm not an expert (I don't claim to know the back-story) but I always thought that particular Brooklin was based on Eric Gorden's 1954 custom convertible (that I believe was actually fabricated in the 1950's).  Is this true?    Anyone?

What does that Brooklin box label say about it Ken?  I don't recall ever seeing this one; it must be a special done by John Roberts, John Ellis, or someone else of their caliber.

There was a report on-line some years ago of Gordon's construction of his own one of a kind Kaiser convertible. It was very cool and this was a good-looking, apparently one-of-a-kind Kaiser. So a car like that did/does exist. It really is great, isn't it !

Jack:I'm unable to read the label even with the photo enlarged. I think you are right. It appears to be a BRK 29c code 3.

I remember Kaisers and have a decent collection of Kaiser Corp. models, all 1/43, including a '51 Frazer Manhattan convertible.

I really enjoyed Ken's good pictures of this later '54 Kaiser convertible, and with just a little search I found a good picture and story of its purchase, construction, and several years later, its repurchase and reconstruction.  For that good account, see

Thanks, Ken.  Now I'm wondering how Kaiser came up with this earlier 4-door convertible.

(later)  For a good account, trust Hemmings!   See

WOW!!! That Manhattan convertible is gorgeous! In those days Kaiser didn't have the finances to tool up for a CV unfortunately.

I didn't see this topic. I purchased that lot, and here are the pics of the model. The box is just a standard Kaiser box. There is no indicaction on who

That 1:1 is one beautiful convertible.  Like the model too.
