I’ve always liked Brooklin’s Kaiser’s. The black Rotterdam version is one of my favorites. It’s been hard to find pictures of an actual black car but I did find this one on MyStarCollectionCar.Com with excellent pictures, albeit not a Manhattan but in the Deluxe trim model which also has the optional sun visor. It’s an excellent article about an unrestored car that has been the same family all its life. If you are interested in Kaisers this article will be of interest.

Looks stunning in black! I have the blue one, and the two-tone one.

A very nice model. I have this one in black as well. All of Brooklin's Kaiser models are among my favorites. I have several of them, including the Taxi Cab.

I'm another who likes the Kaiser. Thanks, David, for the 1:1 comparison.  My black one has been touched with chrome. Did all the black Kaisers have their origin in the Netherlands?  The blue one has been modified with a dull black (vinyl?) roof and a golden hood ornament.  Perhaps an attempt at the '53 Dragon?  Sorry, but I don't remember its origins.

(later)  I got curious and googled the '53 Dragon, 1:1 style.  I wonder how it might have sold with an Oldsmobile V8 under the hood.  Here it is:

David, those are two beautiful Kaisers. The chrome detail on both adds authenticity and the Dragon is nicely done!  I notice what appears to be Kelsey Hayes wires on the Dragon.  Very nice touch!  There was a deal pending with Olds to supply V8 engines to Kaiser but for some reason that never came to pass. Was it Tom McCahill who once quipped, “Slap a Buick name plate on a Kaiser and they would have sold like hot cakes!”

I saw this Dragon a few weeks ago in Chattanooga at their motorcar festival. Note the wires, vinyl top, and the gold-plated trim.
