A couple of weeks ago I mentioned here that I have seen something interesting on the back of the dust cover on Clive Cussler's INCA GOLD that I was reading. Good yarn, but it featured a better car and a most interesting trailer. The car sent me to my Classic Cars section. (Click on a picture for enlargement.)
But the description and picture of the trailer stalled me. I knew, vaguely, that the dying firm of Pierce Arrow attempted to build a travel trailer in the mid-1930's, but I had forgotten that Brooklin had made a model of it. A little research, a quick order, and yesterday's mail brought results.
Brooklin even made one to match the color of my Pierce Arrow, as well as the color of Clive Cussler's.
And both these Brooklin pieces look good together.
But the pair just doesn't fit in my compartmentalized shelves, so I had to clear a space in my overflow display unit.
And now I have two of Cussler's old books on his auto museum holdings on order. I wish I could write him a letter of thanks, but the USPS doesn't send mail to the Valhalla of writers where he now resides. Have fun, gang! (I do!)
